DMS - Lady Warriors 2012-2013 Softball Banquet (AKA Pool Party!)

D’Iberville Lady Warriors 2012-2013 Softball Banquet
Pool / Volleyball event!
Jimmy & Joanna Allen’s House | 11494 Holly Bluff Circle | Biloxi, 39532
Saturday May 18, 2013
1:00 p.m.

Ms. Bridgett Gehrmann and a few other parents have taken the time to coordinate the end of the Year Banquet celebration for the Middle School Lady Warriors.  From the details I have received, it looks like there is a fun-filled event planned for the girls!  I have listed the agenda and details below, so please let us know as soon as possible if this is agreeable to you all!

This year end Celebratory banquet consists of a Volley Ball / Pool Party and Barbeque!  Hawaiian-Tiki Themed and totally relaxed-fun day!

The menu and food provided is:
~ Burgers
~ Sausage
~ Buns & Condiments
~ Paper Plates & Cutlery
~ Cake

Items needed from Parents:
~ Drinks
~ Napkins
~ Potato Salad
~ Chips
~ Baked Beans
~ Any other item you would like to bring J

Other Items needed from Parents:
~ Bring beach towel !!
~ Bring extra portable chair !!

To offset costs, we are asking that the side dishes or drinks be brought in from each parent.  Normally each parent has to pay to eat at the banquets (ranging $10-12 or so); by bringing side dishes and / or drinks, we are “paying” with food so all can enjoy!!

PLEASE R.S.V.P the side item / sodas / other that you intend to bring!  Check list will be uploaded as the information comes in!

Where’s the money coming from?
The majority of funding is received from the Lady Warrior’s Booster Club – including the Player and Coaches gifts.  For the coaches gifts, it was suggested we give them gift cards and a few other items.  If you have any ideas, please submit them as soon as possible since we are only  a few weeks out now J

I am putting together two photo DVD’s and if you have any photos you would like to submit, please email them to mdam1995@gmail.com or denimoore@cableone.net.  Also, does anyone have a really good group photo of the girls?????  If you do, please send to me J I have another project I am working on J.

Player’s Gifts:
Coach Caitlin is working on the player’s gifts and I am not sure if she wants to share just yet J.  But I’ll be back with you if she gives the go’ahead J

We hope to see everyone there!  Please reach out if you have any questions.
Thanks all!

Spring Fling Thank you!

Good Afternoon Parents:

Hopefully everyone has relaxed from the overwhelming demands of the Spring
Fling.  Previous email sent out with totals from both fields - ringing in a total of $3,582.89.

We did exceptionally well.  According to Shannon's breakdown, without the entry fees, we only lost out on $1300 in profit.  However, it must not go unnoticed for the many contributions and donations that we received in order to keep our expense cost as low as possible.

Thanks to Randall for securing the fish and shrimp, Greg Vercher for the hotdogs and buns, Melissa C. for all the condiments, Jenny Gilbert for the peanuts and pizza for the girls/parents plus the Snow cone stand, Joan & Lucy for the extra hamburgers, buns and ketchup, Denise for the Beau Rivage raffle and most importantly....ALL the parents who brought in their sodas, PowerAde, and side dishes or deserts.  In some form of fashion, each parent played a significant role in making this event a success.  We took on a huge challenge of running two different sites, and we managed to conquer it.  So especially a HUGE THANKS to parents who went over and beyond the call of duty :).  Yes, MANY parents worked double shifts, triple shifts, and even all day...meeting the demands of all the hungry fans...lol.

In particular, I have to take this opportunity to personally thank Mr. Jeff Lawson, Mr. Matt Moore, Mr. Jody Ewing, Mr. Dougie Parker and Mr. Tony for sacrificing their chance to see their child/children play in order to help out where we were completely shorthanded without making a complaint.  They just jumped in and made it happen.  Also to Denise Moore and Christine for giving up multiple days to help setup and put things in order.

Our next meeting is scheduled for next Wednesday, April 10 at 6:00 in Coach Donna's classroom.  This is the last meeting to determine how we are going to approach the rest of the season.  I would highly appreciate if everyone will be in attendance for important information will be passed and
discussed.

Again, I sincerely appreciate all the help and everyone's contribution.

FYI...There are still tshirts to be sold if anyone hears of someone wanting one.
